Better

Better

You are brave and you have courage
You are huge and you are strong
You are told that you are better
Than the others, who are wrong
You are proud of your country
What is built on stolen land
You are preaching your religion
With a shotgun in your hand

Your ships dance on the oceans
To control the open sea
From where you shoot your rockets
Of superiority
To destroy the infrastructure
Of those who bought your steel
Of those who use your cell phones
During their happy meal

Refr.:
You think it is your duty
To control and rule
People from other countries
Cause you think that they are fools
You think you are God's servant
The guardian of peace
The cure for all the sickness
But it's you who's the disease

Your ancestors were immigrants
From Ireland and Spain
Who came for land and freedom
They are not to blame
That you've become complacent
By what you have achieved
Your gospel of prosperity
So easy to believe

You are rich and you are powerful
You are a big success
You like to play with fire
You like to play chess
You always want to be the best
You want to have it all
But greed and pride and arrogance
Comes before a fall

Refr.

Nothing is forever
And once I hope you will
Lose the need to conquer
Lose the right to kill
Come to your senses
And stop the bloody raids
Teach your soldiers how to plant
Give them plows and spades

Refr:.
