Make Things Right

Make Things Right

My love and I went out for a walk
Through golden fields of corn
We stood still under a wallnut tree
In the evening dawn
Skies of organge, purple and blue
The night was softly born
I thought of what we were going through
Would we survive the storm

When we come home we make things right
Before we go to sleep

Once in a while I visit my mom
She lives near the sea
It took some years but now she knows
She can't change me
Sometimes we go to a seafood restaurant
Then we talk about the past
How things have changed
How the future will be
That time moves too fast

When we come home we watch TV
Before we go to sleep

Some months before my dad passed away
He gave me good advice
Try to find out behind what door
Your heart lies
It always thakes courage to overcome fear
To cross over a line
And that made the difference, as far as I can see
Between his life and mine

When we come home we drink a beer
Before we go to sleep

When we come home we make things right
Before we go to sleep
